Daft Punk have announced their first performance of the year. It will take place at the Grammy Awards on February 12th, alongside The Weeknd, with whom they collaborated on two of his songs on his new album Starboy.
The announcement immediately sparked speculation and passion among fans, who wondered: Is there a new album behind this? – since the French duo's only live albums are "Alive 1997" and "Alive 2007". No less contributed to these doubts was the fake website Alive2017.com, which listed several cities: Paris, Los Angeles, London, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Ibiza. This showed a glimmer of hope for a planned world tour. Alas! The "smart" fan probably received enough "cursing" criticism after being exposed in the scam. Either way, after so much speculation and fake news, this announcement at least gives rise to shivers of anticipation for "Daft Punk" in 2017.
The last time the "robotic" Frenchmen performed was at the 2014 Grammys, alongside Pharrell, Steve Wonder, and Nile Rodgers, and the interesting thing was that they didn't support their new album "Random Access Memories" released the previous year with a live performance. That's why expectations are huge and they're unlikely to stop so easily.
