One of the greatest mysteries of modern exploration comes to life in James Gray's new film. After being presented at the New York Film Festival, the film will be released on April 21, 2017. The main role (Fawcett) is played by Charlie Hunnam, who (we will reveal) also plays the main role in Guy Ritchie's new film - "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword". Charlie Hunnam replaces Brad Pitt in the adventure of English explorer Percy Fawcett. In 1925, he sets off on his next expedition, in search of what he calls the "Lost City of Z" or (El Dorado), in the Amazon jungles. His traces, and those of his son, are lost immediately after their departure from the village of the local tribes. Were they killed by them? Did they die of disease or were they torn apart by wild beasts? Their disappearance still raises a mystery among some researchers. The film is based on the book by one of them - David Gran. He, after his own expedition, uncovers new evidence about Fawcett's disappearance and perhaps the true existence of the mythical, golden city of El Dorado. The film is based on a true story.

Adding his desire to elevate his personality in English society, as well as his obsession with gold in the golden city of El Dorado, shows that he was a marginal person. On the other hand, his supporters believed in his dangerous exploration missions on the way to discovering the lost civilization and gave them a special importance and mystery.
With this film, one thing is certain – the mystery of Fawcett's disappearance and the golden city of El Dorado will awaken the adventurous thinking of many people.
The film will participate in the 67th Berlinale Film Festival.
