From 18 to 28 July for the third year in a row, the Summer Academy of Dramatic Writing will bring together young screenwriters and playwrights from around the world in Bulgaria. The Academy is organized by the Arte Urbana Collective Association and the Museum of Architectural and Historical Reserve Bozhentsi. Participants and speakers come from 16 from different countries on all continents. Young talents come to work in Bulgaria, even from distant Costa Rica and Hong Kong. The main part of the Summer Academy will be in the beautiful Bulgarian village of Bozhentsi, located in the mountains near Gabrovo.

This year's motto is Digital Village, with the lectures and workshops of the program having a common theme, namely, "The Storytelling Art of the Modern Digital Age." Traditionally, most events will be open to anyone who wants to attend.

Of particular interest is the lecture given by Dutchman Sitze Schalk on transmedia writing. The lecture will be held on 19 on July 10 hours at the French Institute in Sofia. Sitze Schalk has worked on various trans-media projects in his home country, the most popular of which is Shatterland, which has been awarded multiple times, mixing theater, games, literature and illustrations.

Another interesting event from the open program is the studio of American Simon Hanukkah for new theatrical practices, which will be held on 21 July from 18 hours at the Bozhentsi Old School. Simon was born in Azerbaijan, but his parents emigrated to the US when he was very young. His work can be seen mainly in New York, California and Paris, and his projects are an interesting mix of contemporary theatrical techniques.

The lecture of Latvian Aiste Ptkauske on how to write stories for the creative industries will be held on 22 July, again from 18 hours at the Bozhentsi Old School. Aiste works in both the film and creative industries. She has lectured all over the world and was recently selected as Director of the Master's Program in Entrepreneurship in the Creative Industries at Vilnius University.

On 24 July, again at the Old School from 18 hours will be held the workshop of the Australian David Finignon. David creates performances, performances and plays that are often the intersection between art and science. He has worked on several continents and has been awarded numerous projects, such as the Griffin Award for Playwriting at 2017.
