The Union of Bulgarian Artists and Gallery - Sofia Press Bookstore invite you to a painting exhibition of the artist Ivan Valkanov at the anniversary exhibition.
The opening will take place on 9 July (Tuesday) from 17 hours at the Sofia Press Gallery, Slavyanska Street, 29. The exhibition will last until July 25.

Ivan Valkanov was born in 1940 in Rogozen village, Montana district. He completed his primary education in Sofia and continued at the School of Fine Arts.

After taking up his regular military service, he went to work in Feature Films Studios as an artist and makeup artist. Later he graduated from the School of Interior Architecture in absentia. In the meantime, he became a student of the artist Dechko Uzunov from 1965 to 1968.
His first solo exhibition - painting, was opened in 1966 by the sculptor Dimitar Dimov in the salon on Aksakov Street 18. In 1972 he joined the Bulgarian National Television and worked until 1993. He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. He lives and works in Sofia.
The exhibition will feature landscapes, still lifes, and several abstract compositions.
