British singer and songwriter PJ Harvey (Polly Jane Harvey), 5 years after the Mercury Music Prize-nominated album “ Let England Shake ”, will present her 9th album on April 15, 2016 with the unambiguous title “ The Hope Six Demolition Project”. The album will be released as an imprint on her joint work with photographer/director Seamus Murphy (Seamus Murphy), who in 2011-2015 embarked on a tour in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington DC, collecting experiences, photographs and in 2015 published the book “ The hollow of the hand” . It is distinguished by the perfect combination of Harvey’s poetry and Murphy’s photographs.

Less than 2 weeks ago, Harvey and Islands Records released the music video for one of the singles from the album “ The Community of Hope” . This video was inspired by the so-called “Hope VI” project, created by the United States government. The project involves the demolition of all buildings in an area with very high poverty and criminal activity. In this process, while the area is being prepared for renovation for wealthier people, the previous owners are not given a chance to stay in the area, due to the newly introduced high standard of living. Specifically, it is about “District 7” in Washington, D.C., which strongly influenced both artists. This video, of course, also accepts the harsh reaction of politicians who find the song and its video unreliable.
